Berks County Multi-Vehicle Crash Involving Tractor-Trailer Claims Life

A multi-vehicle crash involving a tractor-trailer claimed the life of a victim in Brecknock Township, Pennsylvania. On Thursday morning, around 2:21 am, an initial single-car accident in which the vehicle crashed and then overturned occurred between the Reading, Pennsylvania and Morgantown, Pennsylvania exits on the Pennsylvania Turnpike. Three individuals from the first accident then exited their vehicle, and, moments afterward, a tractor-trailer hit the overturned car and another sedan that stopped to help the victims of the first crash. During the second incident, the truck fatally struck a 25-year-old man from Brooklyn, New York, and caused minor injuries for three other victims.

Multi-vehicle accidents may result in catastrophic injuries as well as fatalities for any parties involved. Although a multi-vehicle crash may involve several vehicles, it may stem from one car accident that leads to more congestion on already busy roads. Drivers may fail to use caution or speed around the accident site, which may contribute to the possibility of a devastating chain reaction crash.
