A car hit a female pedestrian in an Allentown, Pennsylvania city street on Tuesday night. The woman, who sustained life-threatening injuries, was crossing the intersection of Sixth and Liberty Streets when the car hit her around 8:30 pm. She was taken to the hospital for treatment while the police started an investigation. They are still trying to uncover the identity of the victim.
Although many laws protect pedestrians, drivers may either fail to follow them or be unaware of their existence. When a distracted driver or an individual driving under the influence drives through a crosswalk, the pedestrian crossing, even with the right of way, risks getting hit and incurring personal injuries. Fatalities are also common in this scenario.
If you or someone you love sustained personal injuries in a pedestrian accident, you may be entitled to compensation.
