An apartment fire in the Fishtown neighborhood of Philadelphia claimed the life of one man early Wednesday morning. The firefighters sustained minor injuries while fighting the fire. Both the older man and two firefighters were brought to Hahnemann Hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, the man was pronounced deceased upon his arrival at the hospital. Officials have not yet discovered the cause of the fatal apartment fire.
Apartment fires may originate from more than one source and may cause serious burn injuries for several residents and even fatalities. Along with injuries, a fire in a residence may cause its occupants to lose their home and belongings. Depending on who owns the building, tenants may be entitled to compensation if they become victims of an apartment fire.
